Welcome to Cornerstone Children’s Ministry!
“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done.”
Our vision is to see children’s lives transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ while coming alongside parents and families to equip them in raising their children to walk in His ways.
Mission in Practice:
At Cornerstone, we are actively creating a Christ-centered environment each week where children learn God’s Word, experience His love, and are encouraged to follow Jesus in their daily lives. Through engaging lessons, worship, prayer, and meaningful relationships, we help children grow in faith while pointing them to the hope of the Gospel.
Partnership with Parents:
Our heart is to equip parents with support, resources, and springboards that will extend faith conversations beyond Sunday morning. By building bridges between church and home, we help children see faith as part of everyday life.
SUnday Morning Programming:
Cornerstone has a vibrant Sunday School program! We have faithful teachers who are eager to invest in each child so that they may begin to understand the great love Jesus has for them. All children from infants through fifth grade are invited to attend a Sunday School class just for them!
8:45AM SERVICE
Nursery
The Nursery is available for infants ages 0–1. This classroom is open for the entirety of the worship service, providing a safe and caring environment for our youngest children. It is fully equipped with a changing table, diapers, rocker, and privacy for nursing mothers.
Early Childhood
Our Early Childhood class serves children ages 2 through PreK. This classroom is open for the entirety of the worship service, and families may bring their children whenever they are ready. Bible lessons begin after the greeting period of the service, using the Show Me Jesus curriculum published by Great Commission.
K–2nd Grade
The K–2nd Grade class is dismissed to their classroom during the greeting period, which happens midway through the service. Their lessons follow The Gospel Project, published by Lifeway, which walks through the Bible chronologically to help children see how all of Scripture points to Jesus.
3rd–5th Grade
The 3rd-5th Grade class is dismissed to their classroom during the greeting period, which happens midway through the service. Lessons are drawn from The Gospel Project curriculum, published by Lifeway, which helps students trace the big story of Scripture and see how it all points to Christ.
11AM SERVICE
The availability of the nursery and programming of our Early Childhood class is consistent between services. (See details above.)
K-5th Grade
The combined K-5th Grade class meets downstairs in Room 103. Students remain in the worship service with their families until the greeting period, at which time they are dismissed to their classroom. Lessons follow the Teach Us to Worship curriculum, published by CDM, allowing children to explore the elements of worship and equipping them to engage meaningfully in worship as part of God’s covenant family.
safety:
For our Nursery, Early Childhood, and K-2nd Grade classes we use a check in/ check out process that ensures children are leaving with parents or other approved individuals. Additionally, all of our volunteer teachers and helpers have current necessary clearances on file and have undergone training that promotes best practices in safety.
Invitation:
We hope your family will join us at Cornerstone! If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to connect directly with Sarah & Colin Bartholomew, our Children’s Ministry Directors at children@cornerstonepres.org.
